Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meticulously check and fulfill the following criteria:
1. Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned Broad Speciality or any other equivalent degree/qualification prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC).
2. Required Experience:
- For Post Graduate Degree Holders: One year of post-PG experience as a Senior Resident/Tutor in the concerned subject.
- For DNB Candidates: Candidates passing the DNB examination need to undergo one additional year of senior residency in institutions with 500+ beds, or two years in institutions with less than 500 beds.
- Exemption: Candidates appointed as Assistant Professors before 08.06.2017 are exempted from this experience requirement.
3. Age Limit & Relaxation (as on 01-01-2025):
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 45 Years
- Age Relaxation is applicable as per rules:
- SEBC/SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
- PwD Candidates (40% & above disability): 10 years (General category)
- PwD Candidates in SC/ST categories: Cumulative relaxation of 15 years.
- In-service Doctors (ad-hoc/contractual): 5 years
4. Important Note for Applicants:
- This application window is ONLY for eligible PwD candidates as per the original advertisement.
- PwD candidates who had already applied in response to the original advertisement need NOT apply again.
Salary and Benefits
The selected candidates will be placed in Academic Level-12 of the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (Medical College Teachers) Rules, 2019. They will receive a handsome salary along with the usual dearness allowance and other benefits as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.
Selection Process
The selection for the post of Assistant Professor will be based on a Written Examination as per the Odisha Medical Education Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021.
