Educational Qualification:

🏅 Sports Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is exclusively for meritorious sportspersons. Candidates must have:

Represented a State or the country in a National or International competition; OR
Been a medal winner in Junior National Championships, Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Para Games, Khelo India University Games, or School Games Federation of India (SGFI) events; OR
Represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments; OR
Represented a State School Team in National School Games.

Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Football, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Karate, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and many more. (Refer to the official notification for the complete list.)

First Preference: Represented the country in an International Competition.
Second Preference: Represented a State/UT in Senior/Junior National Championships or National Games (medal winner up to 3rd place).
Third Preference: Represented a University in Inter-University competitions or Khelo India University Games (medal winner up to 3rd place).
Fourth Preference: Represented a State/UT in Khelo India Youth/Winter/Para Games (medal winner up to 3rd place).
Fifth Preference: Represented State Schools in National School Games (SGFI) (medal winner up to 3rd place).
Sixth Preference: Represented at the levels in categories 2–5 but did not win a medal or position.

📝 Selection Process

Tax Assistant & Stenographer Grade-II (Two Phases):

Phase 1: Shortlisting based on application details and sports achievements. (28 candidates for Tax Assistant, 10 for Stenographer Grade-II)
Phase 2: Post-specific skill test at the Pr. CCIT Office, Bhubaneswar (at own expense). Final merit list combines performance from both phases.

Multi-Tasking Staff (Single Phase):

Selection based purely on the merit list prepared from sports achievement scores. No separate skill test.

Waiting List:

Tax Assistant: 10 candidates
Stenographer Grade-II: 5 candidates
MTS: 10 candidates

Download the application form (Annexure-II of the official notification) and fill it in block letters using a blue/black ball point pen.
Mark your post preference clearly using '1', '2', '3' in order of preference, and 'X' for posts you are not applying for.
Attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
Place the completed application in a closed envelope, superscribed: "Application for appointment of meritorious sportsperson in Income Tax Department, Odisha Region - 2026."
Send the envelope by Registered Post or Speed Post only to:
