Railway Recruitment Board Announces 590 Paramedical Category Vacancies Under CEN 05/2026

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the official notification for the recruitment of various Paramedical Categories in the Indian Railways under Centralised Employment Notification CEN 05/2026. This recruitment drive offers a total of 590 vacancies across nine different paramedical posts, including Nursing Superintendent, Dialysis Technician, Pharmacist, Radiographer X-Ray Technician, ECG Technician, Optometrist, and Lab Assistant Grade II. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications from September 15, 2026, to October 14, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The RRB Paramedical Posts Recruitment 2026 has different educational and technical qualification requirements for each post. Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification from a recognized institution/university on or before the closing date of the online application, i.e., October 14, 2026. Candidates awaiting the final result of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply.

1. Nursing Superintendent

  • Must possess a Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife after passing a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery from a School of Nursing or another institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
  • Alternatively, candidates possessing B.Sc Nursing are also eligible
  • Candidates obtaining the prescribed qualification under the special concessions laid down by the Indian Nursing Council for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, Midwives, and B Grade Nurses will also be eligible

2. Dialysis Technician

  • Must possess a B.Sc. along with either:
    • Diploma in Haemodialysis; OR
    • Two years of satisfactory in-house Training/Experience in Haemodialysis work in a reputed institution, with proof attached
  • B.Sc. in Dialysis Techniques, B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology, and B.Sc. in Renal Dialysis Technology are also eligible qualifications

3. Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II

  • Must possess a B.Sc. degree having studied Chemistry as the Main or Optional subject
  • In addition, must possess either:
    • One-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector; OR
    • One-year National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Health Sanitary Inspector awarded by the National Council for Vocational Training, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, New Delhi

4. Audiologist & Speech Therapist

  • Must possess a Bachelor in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognized University
  • Must also be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

5. Pharmacist (Entry Grade)

  • Must possess a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (Allopathic) from a Central or State Government recognized University or Institute and must be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948
  • Alternatively, candidates possessing a Doctor of Pharmacy from a recognized University and registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 are also eligible

6. Radiographer X-Ray Technician

  • Must possess 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry along with a Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis Technology of 2 years duration from a recognized Institute
  • Science graduates with a 2-year Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis Technology shall be preferred
  • Other eligible qualifications include:
    • B.Sc. Medical Technology in Radiography
    • B.Sc. Medical Radiography and Imaging Technology
    • B.Sc. (Radiography)
    • B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology
    • B.Sc. in Radiological & Image Techniques
    • 2-Year Diploma in Radiation Technology
    • 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry and Degree of Bachelor in Radiation Technology

7. ECG Technician

  • Must possess 10+2/Graduation in Science along with a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology, Cardiology, Cardiology Technician, or Cardiology Techniques from a reputed institution
  • The certificate should be of a minimum duration of one year
  • Recognition provisions for qualifications obtained through Open and Distance Learning mode from eligible institutions approved by the University Grants Commission are specified

8. Optometrist

  • Must possess either:
    • B.Sc. in Optometry; OR
    • Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician (3 to 4 years duration)
  • Must also have Registration with the concerned Council/Licensing Body

9. Lab Assistant Grade II

  • Must possess 12th (10+2 stage) in Science along with either:
    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT); OR
    • Certificate Course in Medical Laboratory Technology at par with DMLT
  • For the certificate course, the course should be from an institution recognized by a University or Technical Board of the State Government/Central Government authority, should be of at least one year duration, should have been completed on a full-time basis, and should include a system of examination which has been successfully passed by the candidate
  • Candidates possessing 12th in Science along with a Degree of Bachelor of Science Medical Lab Technology are also eligible

Application Fee

The examination fee for RRB Paramedical Posts Recruitment 2026 is payable online only through internet banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the official RRB website and access the online application link for CEN 05/2026
  2. Create an account using a valid personal mobile number and active email ID. Candidates who have already created an account for previous RRB CENs should use the same login credentials
  3. Enter the required personal, educational, and other details carefully. Details entered during the account creation process, including mobile number and email ID, cannot be changed later
  4. Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation
  5. Select only one RRB and provide the required preference for eligible posts and Railway Zones
  6. Select the examination medium. The CBT will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages including Odia
  7. Complete the online application form and carefully check all details before submission
  8. Complete the online examination fee payment through internet banking, debit/credit card, or UPI
  9. The application will be accepted only after confirmation of successful fee payment
  10. During the application process, a live photograph of the candidate will be captured through webcam or the front camera of a mobile phone. A pre-existing photograph should not be photographed and submitted
  11. Upload the candidate's signature in the prescribed format. SC/ST candidates seeking free railway travel facility must also upload the required SC/ST certificate
  12. Submit the application before the closing date and keep the application details and payment confirmation for future reference

Note: Multiple applications to different RRBs or multiple applications to the same RRB will lead to rejection and may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
