Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, OR
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, OR
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain specified countries with the intention of settling permanently in India

Candidates in the latter categories require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Candidates who have appeared for Class 12 exam can also apply, but must have the qualifying result declared on or before October 7, 2026.

Tier-II is conducted in two sessions on the same day:

  • It is mandatory to qualify all sections of Tier-II

 

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in or the "my SSC" mobile application
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website
  3. Log in and fill out the SSC CHSL 2026 online application form
  4. Opt for Aadhaar-based authentication during OTR, if desired
  5. Upload the required details and capture your photograph as per instructions
  6. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) before October 8, 2026
  7. Submit the form and keep a printout for your records

 

Important Instructions

  • Applications must be submitted only in online mode; no offline applications are accepted
  • Candidates can select up to three exam centres in order of priority
  • Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other exam
  • The correction window (October 14-16, 2026) allows a maximum of two modifications
  • Applications remaining "Incomplete" due to non-receipt of fee will be summarily rejected
  • The Tier-I and Tier-II exam schedule will be announced separately
